Problem Starting AcrosII

ArcosII needs the Microsoft DAO Jet Engine 3.5 to be installed, to access the database. If the Jet Engine is not installed on your system AcrosII will start with an appropriate error message. You can download the Jet Engine for free from the Microsoft web site. The Jet Engine will be installed automatically by many products ( like Netscape Navigator 4.0 or newer, MS IE 4.0, MS Office etc... ).

Error Messages While Sending / Receiving Data

A Timeout while receiving data indicates a problem with you serial connection. Check your cable and the ports ( correct COM Port ? ). After that check the connection.

The error message 'wrong MEC' appears if the ACK Mode settings doesn't fit the settings in the Encoder ( see also PortMode ). To synchronise these settings use the Check Connection function.
An error message with an error code included like 'ACK response Code n ( error )' is an error message from the Encoder. I.e. a wrong UECP command or a wrong parameter range was sent. Correct your input and try again. A complete list of error messages can be found in the UECP specification.
